Working Hard or Hardly Working

It’s been a few months but I’ve been keeping busy throughout it one way or another.

I Have A Job

Most Important first, I got hired by a small studio, Shed Light Studios , as a Background Artist! Although I can’t show any of the work I’ve been doing at the moment, I will surely add it to the rest of my portfolio when I’m allowed to. It’s been great working for them, and they’ve been very nice and fair.

As it stands most of my work composes of drawing backgrounds for shows, editing other work to be repurposed, as well as promotional material. They are were most of my time and effort has been going to, and it’s been a lot of fun.

I’ve Been Drawing Daily

Although It might not seem as much, I have been taking 30-40mins out of my time to do a daily sketch/ drawing. 2 1/2 months in as of this post’s date, I’ve drawn over 80 sketches and the number will only keep growing.

I’ve seen a lot of Improvement in my drawings as of it as well, originally only able to get the lines done before the time, to consistently being able to get some color and even shading in the time limit.

It also spread the word of my art as I post daily on Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr. And to help me have something to draw daily I’ve been drawing people’s characters online, recently Ratchet and Clank characters all with different features, head shapes and items, really helping me draw new things.

I can’t wait to see how better I get, and how many things I’ll draw as the time goes. The goal is to go a whole year of daily sketching.

I’m Getting Those Commissions Done

Although most of my time is going to the sketches, and my job I still got people waiting on their Illustration commissions, and although slowly, I am surely getting them done.

It’s taking a while and the illustrations are a great add to my portfolio, as well as the communication with clients has been great experience.

This piece in particular is was commissioned by the same commissioner as Peaceful Reading. It took a bit, but it’s been done. I don’t have a name of it yet, but I’m sure to add it to the portfolio once the Process Book is done. Thank you again SecretTimeLady.

And there is still about 3 more commissions left on the list, and although it may take me a bit, I’ll keep juggling it along with the rest of my work.

And That’s been it so far these past week. I’ll make sure to keep you updated on any new things that might happen as the year comes to an end. See you next time.
